SK-II approached this project with a clear objective: to unveil a refreshed retail environment in line with their new global equity design. The setting—a department store within David Jones Bondi—required a thoughtful approach to integrating the brand’s updated global identity within an existing retail framework.
The goal was to create a space that reflected SK-II’s evolving brand image while optimising visibility, flow, and consumer engagement in a high-traffic department store setting.
While the overarching design direction was provided by SK-II’s global team, Positive Design was entrusted with the detailed execution and project coordination on the ground. Our scope of work included:
This project was made possible through a highly collaborative process. We worked hand-in-hand with SK-II’s internal teams, the David Jones department store, and our trusted local associates in Australia. The responsiveness and adaptability of all stakeholders—especially SK-II’s swift feedback and the department store’s flexibility—greatly contributed to the project’s seamless delivery. Our local associates in Australia played a key role in facilitating quick on-site actions and solutions, helping us maintain momentum despite time pressures.
While the timeline was tight, our structured workflow, clear communications, and agile on-site coordination allowed us to deliver with speed and precision.
By aligning closely with SK-II’s global and regional teams, and leveraging the efficiency of our local associates, we were able to translate the refreshed design into a fully realised, high-quality space within the set schedule. This project once again demonstrated our ability to uphold craftsmanship under pressure, without compromising on quality or detail.
Despite the demanding timeline, the project was delivered to the highest standards—resulting in an exceptional outcome that delighted the client. The final space not only honoured the brand’s new global identity but also elevated SK-II’s in-store presence at David Jones.
The feedback from SK-II was overwhelmingly positive, reaffirming Positive Design’s reputation for reliability, precision, and excellence in luxury retail execution.
